IPOH: Four Umno assemblymen have been summoned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to have their statements recorded here over the alleged plot to topple the Perak Mentri Besar.
The four were state opposition leader Datuk Saarani Mohamad (Kota Tampan assemblyman), Jurij Jalaludin (Lubuk Merbau), Maslin Sham Razman (Bukit Chandan) and Khairul Shahril Mohamed (Bota).
Maslin arrived at the MACC headquarters in Meru at 2.30pm on Thursday (Dec 6), and was questioned until about 5.30pm.
Khairul Shahril arrived around 3pm followed by Saarani at about 3.30pm and Jurij at about 5pm.
According to Maslin, he was asked to give his statement to assist in the ongoing probe over the alleged plot.
“I was asked to show the statutory declaration that I signed,” he said.
Saarani had claimed that a Pakatan state executive councillor had approached five Umno assemblymen at various locations in Perak and Kuala Lumpur to get their support to oust Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
He alleged that Perak DAP vice-chairman Dr Abdul Aziz Bari was the exco member out to topple the Mentri Besar.
Khairul Shahril claimed he was one of the assemblymen approached by Aziz Bari.
“I do not wish to say anything further that will jeopardise the investigations,” he said on Thursday.- Star
