The National Heart Institute (IJN) has requested for visitation restriction for fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim for the next 48 to 72 hours.
The IJN in a statement today said this was to allow him to undergo his regimental physiotherapy session uninterrupted and at the same time to reduce the risk of cross-borne infection by the visitors.
"Although Muhammad Adib has made progressive recovery, he is still considered to be critical since two of his organs (lungs and kidney) still require support system (VV-Ecmo and Dialysis)," said the statement.
Adib's family appreciated the support and concerns by all Malaysians, and urged everyone to continue to pray for his recovery.
Adib was earlier reported to be seriously injured after being attacked by rioters while in an operation to put out the fire on vehicles in front of the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Subang Jaya last Tuesday.
