Najib claims RON95 should be RM1.86 per litre now

Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak has alleged that the public is now "subsidising" the federal government because fuel prices remain unchanged despite falling crude oil prices.
Najib claimed that according to the Mean of Platts Singapore (Mops) fuel price, Malaysia's RON95 petrol should be priced at RM1.86 per litre.
"This means that the public is subsidising (the government) with 34 sen per litre during this school holiday and festive season.
"However, our finance minister (Lim Guan Eng) is too sheepish to admit it," Najib wrote on his Facebook page today.
On Saturday, Najib claimed that Putrajaya had imposed a "fuel tax" of 30 sen per litre on the rakyat since November.
The Pakatan Harapan administration fixed RON95 petrol prices at RM2.20 per litre since May.
Brent crude oil prices have been on the decline since October due to oversupply and a sluggish global economy, and are currently hovering above the US$50 per barrel mark.
In his Facebook post, Najib also accused the government of "abolishing" the discount on Plus Highway toll charges during festive seasons.
"Are they still promising to abolish toll charges? Happy holidays!" he wrote as a parting shot.
