PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has taken the mickey out of Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa for his heartfelt letter to Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar in which he said he could not sleep out of concern for her.
The former prime minister asked Mujahid, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, how many nights he had not slept due to worrying about “Reformasi Princess” Nurul Izzah’s situation.
“After reading the letter from Cordova, he (Mujahid) could not sleep and is worried about Nurul Izzah’s situation. Dramatic.
“How many nights did you not sleep? If you still cannot sleep, read your prayers to God to sleep easily and calmly,” Najib jibed in a Facebook post on Wednesday (Dec 26).
In the open letter by Mujahid on Dec 25, he urged the former PKR vice-president to “continue leading the way”.
“They still need their ‘princess’ to lead the way to what the basis of ‘reform’ is. Do not let those who are not with us dictate the fate of the ‘New Malaysia’ – we have to do that together,” he wrote.
“Do not back down after walking thousands of steps in our journey; we still have a long way to go, New Malaysia needs you”.
Mujahid’s 25-paragraph letter has garnered 11,000 comments and more than 6,000 shares as at 11.30am on Wednesday.- Star
