GEORGE TOWN: A baby boy, with his umbilical cord still intact, was found abandoned at a hypermarket in Tanjung Tokong.
George Town OCPD Asst Comm Che Zaimani Che Awang said a woman found the newborn in the diaper changing room at the hypermarket at 5.40pm on Thursday (Dec 6).
“The baby was found with his umbilical cord still attached while being wrapped in a white cloth.
“The baby was placed on top of a sofa,” he said in a statement on Friday (Dec 7).
He added the baby was later sent to the Penang Hospital to undergo a check-up and was found to be in healthy condition. - Star
