PAS leaders send confused signals after its MPs meet Mahathir

PAS leaders have issued contradictory signals following the revelation that two of its MPs had met Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan had said that the party had no knowledge of the meeting and will identify the duo as it was potentially a breach of party discipline.
However, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said there was no need to summon the two PAS MPs as the party was aware of the matter.
"No, it's not an issue. The party was informed," he told Malaysiakini.
Tuan Ibrahim said that Mahathir was the prime minister and it was normal for him to meet people.
Earlier today, Takiyuddin said PAS was in the midst of identifying the two MPs who went to Mahathir.
"My side had no knowledge about the rumoured meeting. Did they really meet? If they did, we will summon them for clarification.
"If they met in their individual or personal capacity, then it is against PAS' stance and in breach of discipline.
"Their action have given rise to all kinds of perceptions. The meeting should have been done through the party. We'll investigate first," he was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian. - Mkini
