PAS MP: Harapan's real fear of anti-Icerd rally is losing Putrajaya

Pakatan Harapan fears the union between PAS and Umno as it would result in the coalition losing federal power in the next general election, according to a PAS lawmaker.
Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali said this is the reason that Harapan leaders are making all sorts of shallow claims and allegations regarding the gathering to protest the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (Icerd).
“The gathering will unite two of the biggest Malay-Muslim parties... If this union lasts until the 15th general election, all can predict what will be Harapan's fate...
“Six states – Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Perlis, Kedah and Perak will certainly not be theirs. The federal government will change hands... This is their real fear,” he added in a statement published on Harakah Online.
The Kuala Nerus MP (photo) claimed the gathering would also remind the people of Harapan's “inclination to abolish” the four pillars of the nation - Islam, the sovereignty of the Malay rulers, Bahasa Melayu and bumiputera.
“They can act as if giving allocations for Islam and the interests of the majority race... but the fact is, this is just a mask to shield their agenda.
“Will they retreat? No! If not through Icerd, their demand will manifest little-by-little through the amendments of related Acts because they have the simple majority in the Dewan Rakyat.
“Icerd is just the beginning. There are many other international coventions which go against the interests of the Malays and Islam which are championed by Harapan leaders, especially those from DAP and PKR, such as the International Convention Against All Forms of Racial Discrimination, Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).
“The Malay-Muslim leaders in Harapan are mere 'clowns' who are dancing to the wishes of DAP and a part of the PKR leadership. So the people must rise to reject this unconstitutional intention. Show your unity and solidarity through the Dec 8 gathering,” he added.
PAS is expecting a turnout of more than 500,000 for the gathering dubbed as a celebration of the government's decision not to ratify Icerd.
Yesterday, Finance Minister and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng took PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang to task for justifying the gathering.
He accused the PAS leader of pitting the Muslims against non-Muslims. - Mkini
