Police report filed over Honda dealership staff's FB comment

A police report has been filed against a Honda Malaysia dealership staff and several other individuals over their comments in a Facebook posting on the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim.
The report was filed by the Setiawangsa Umno Youth wing, who accused these individuals of making statements that could disrupt racial harmony in Malaysia.
“We wish to stress that our action is not an attempt to spark off racial unrest but to ensure that nobody, regardless of race or religion, makes provocative statements...
“We hope the authorities will take stern action against these individuals... We also hope this will serve as a lesson to others,” said the wing's vice-chief Fadzmel Fadzil in a statement.
Yesterday, Honda Malaysia said the staff has been suspended and an internal investigation is being conducted.
Apologising for the incident, Honda Malaysia said: “Her comment is against the values of Honda and we do not condone such behaviour.”
Adib, 24, was part of the team deployed in response to vehicles that were torched by rioters near the Sri Maha Mariamman temple in Subang Jaya on Nov 26.

On reaching the scene, the police claimed that Adib was dragged out of his vehicle and assaulted.
The firefighter, who sustained severe injuries, died on Monday night at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur.
Following his death, police have reclassified the case as murder. - Mkini
