PETALING JAYA: Selangor's Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has denied rumours that he will be attending the anti-Icerd (International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination) rally on Saturday (Dec 8) along with the Pahang and Johor sultans.
In a statement on the Selangor Royal Office's Facebook page, Sultan Sharafuddin urged all parties not to include his name in any rally, be it political or NGO-related.
"These type of statements can confuse the people. The Selangor Ruler is not supposed to be involved in any rally organised by any party," the statement read.
This was in response to viral posts and messages on social media, claiming that the Selangor Ruler, alongside the Johor and Pahang Sultans, would be attending the anti-Icerd rally.
The anti-Icerd rally will begin at 2pm on Saturday (Dec 7) on Jalan Raja, Kuala Lumpur.
