PKR vice-president Tian Chua has urged Batu MP P Prabakaran and Batu PKR vice-chief Rozan Azen Mat Rasip to bury the hatchet and apologise to each other.
Chua, who is the Batu PKR division chief, said it was wrong for both individuals to engage in a public spat and that he was saddened by this.
"A protracted spat would not only tarnish the party's image, but also affect the quality of our service to voters in the Batu constituency," he said in a statement today.
Chua said the duo should have consulted him as the division leader before making public statements.
The spat was made public when Rozan issued a statement on Saturday claiming that he had quit as Prabakaran's secretary.
In response, Prabakaran said Rozan had never been appointed his secretary to begin with and described the latter as "excessively egoistic."
Rozan was formerly the PKR Youth information chief and has been part of the Reformasi movement since its inception.
On the other hand, Prabakaran only joined PKR on May 11. Prabakaran became the Batu MP after contesting in the May 9 elections as an independent.
His candidacy was endorsed by PKR after Chua was disqualified by the returning officer. - Mkini
