PETALING JAYA – Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman today hit back at P Ramasamy after the Penang deputy chief minister II reprimanded him over his alleged support for P Waytha Moorthy’s resignation, which has intensified following the death of a fireman as a result of injuries during a temple riot in Subang Jaya last month.
In a Facebook post, Syed Saddiq, who heads PPBM’s youth wing, challenged Ramasamy to take action against PKR’s Dr Afif Bahardin for insisting that the minister in charge of national unity step down after Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim died due to his injuries earlier this week.
“Isn’t he your colleague from Penang? Heck, (he is) even an Exco with you.”
The youth and sports minister also urged Ramasamy to take action against Terengganu Amanah Youth for insulting Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s “wisdom”.
This came after Ramasamy accused PPBM Youth of questioning the prime minister’s Cabinet selection.
“Don’t forget to school Datuk Kadir Jasin as well,” he wrote, referring to the PPBM Supreme Council member who had also called for Waytha’s resignation earlier today.

Kadir, who is also Mahathir’s media and communication’s special adviser, had said it would be better for Waytha to voluntarily resign after losing his credibility in handling the Seafield Hindu temple issue.
Syed Saddiq went on to point out that the youth wing of DAP, the party which Ramasamy belongs to, had also called for the education minister to step down.
“Yet, when Armada leaders do the same, we are accused of betraying Pakatan Harapan, accused of fanning racial sentiments and likened to PAS and Umno.
“This has nothing to do with race. It’s about agreeing to disagree, about not suppressing people’s right to freely express their views,” he said, referring to PPBM’s youth wing.
Ramasamy had yesterday hit out at PPBM Youth and Syed Saddiq following reports that a delegation from the wing had submitted a memorandum to Mahathir asking for Waytha to be dropped as a minister in the Prime Minister’s Department.
He had also questioned if it was appropriate for Syed Saddiq to be part of this delegation.
However, sources told NST that Syed Saddiq had “only paved the way for several of his friends” to hand over the memorandum to the prime minister.
