I posted some comments the other day about the class timetables for a government primary school (SRK) and a private school.
A reader Ken sent me (thank you very much) the following links to the timetables for an SRJK Cina. Here are their Std 1 and Std 3 timetables.
Std 1 :
Bahasa Cina 12 periods
Bahasa Inggeris 5 periods
Bahasa Malaysia 10 periods
M3 (mathematics) 6 periods
Here is the Std 3 timetable and it is about the same.
As you can see the SRJK Cina timetable is very simple and looks concise.
For your recall, here is that timetable from the sekolah rendah kebangsaan (sekolah kerajaan) :

All three schools have 10 - 11 class periods a day.
But the Chinese school (and the private school) do NOT have the 11 periods of Agama/Arab.
So for SIX Years, unlike the sekolah kebangsaan, the Chinese school and private school students study 11 EXTRA periods per week of useful subjects like Maths, Bahasa Inggeris, Science, Bahasa Cina and Bahasa Melayu.
That is why the government still needs the Matrikulasi colleges where students are given easy passing marks in Science to enable them to enter local universities. If no Matrikulasi, masuk universiti pun tak jadi.
