Azmin: Why target me for skipping PKR meet?

PKR deputy president Azmin Ali today asked why was he the only person being questioned about skipping the PKR leadership council meeting (MPP) yesterday.
Speaking to reporters outside the Selangor state assembly today, he said it was normal for leaders to be absent at party meetings.
"There are party programs that I attend if I don't have government duties. If I (require a leave) I will inform (the party). This is a normal process. Why am I targeted?" asked Azmin.
Apart from Azmin, also absent from the meeting yesterday were members of his inner circle - elected vice-presidents Zuraida Kamaruddin and Tian Chua, PKR women's wing chief Haniza Talha and Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.
The MPP meets once a month. Most of the elected MPP members are aligned to Azmin.
Yesterday, the party issued a reminder to party leaders that they must attend party meetings and that the dates are set months in advance.
"The leaders have been reminded to be present (for the meetings) and prioritise their attendance so that we can, as a party, coordinate on decisions taken," said PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil yesterday.
Meanwhile, Azmin did not reveal the exact nature of his government duties that prevented him from attending the MPP meeting.
"I had duties. We as government leaders have a responsibility to the government and the party.
"We need to carry out our mandate together. Sometimes, there are government duties which we need to perform. That is our responsibility," he said.  - Mkini
