Coroner concludes Adib's inquest, says enough evidence to deliver verdict



INQUEST | The Coroner's Court in Shah Alam today concluded its inquest into the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim after a hearing which has lasted five months.
Coroner Rafiah Mohamad also ruled that there is no need for her to call for another witness.
She fixed Aug 21 for the interested parties to make their respective submissions.
"I am satisfied with the evidence and I close the inquest proceeding. We have enough evidence to deliver a verdict," Rafiah said.
 into the death of Adib started on Feb 11. A total of 30 witnesses were called during the 41-day hearing.
Adib died at the National Heart Institute on Dec 17, 2018, after succumbing to injuries sustained during riots near the Seafield temple about a month earlier.
The inquest was ordered after two conflicting versions of the cause of his death emerged.
One version claimed he was hit by a vehicle while the other said he was beaten by a mob.
