PKR deputy president Mohamad Azmin Ali has told his party's information chief Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin not to be a hypocrite.
"Don't be a hypocrite (munafik)," he said briefly at the Parliament lobby when asked about Shamsul's statement, and hurriedly left without elaborating.
Shamsul, who was seen as Azmin's ally in PKR’s internal elections last year, had said in a statement there were doubts over the sex video probe implicating a minister and that those accused of wrongdoing should go on leave.
He did not name names but appeared to refer to Azmin as he questioned police's focus on those who circulated the video instead of its authenticity.
Yesterday, police arrested former PKR member Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz and six others.
They are being investigated under Section 292A of the Penal Code, which concerns the distribution of obscene material, and is punishable with up to three years’ imprisonment or a fine, or both.
They are also being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, which concerns the improper use of network facilities and carries a fine of up to RM50,000 or up to one-year imprisonment or both.
Haziq had confessed to being the person in a series of videos performing sexual acts with another man, whom he claimed was Azmin.
