Ganapathy not appealing expulsion from PKR, fires departing salvo at Anwar

Former PKR Seputeh division chief P Ganapathy (photo, above) has opted not to appeal his expulsion from the party, electing instead to fire a salvo upon party president Anwar Ibrahim.
Ganapathy, who has been a member since 1998, said Anwar had failed to mend the cracks within the party and was not qualified to become the next Malaysian prime minister.
“I do not deny that lately, I have been criticising (the party) a lot. However, my criticism is not aimed at the party’s struggles but towards the person helming the party, which is Anwar.
“I have lately felt that he is no longer able to look after his own party and failed to foster a sense of unity among (party) members, what more Malaysia should he become prime minister,” he said.
“I also feel he is no longer qualified to lead PKR, let alone become prime minister as touted by his supporters,” Ganapathy added during a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.
The latter had been booted from the party yesterday for breaching party disciplinary protocols by spreading and uploading allegedly untrue, slanderous news to other party leaders.
When questioned on why he would not be appealing his sacking, Ganapathy stated he wanted to be free to criticise PKR.
He added there would be no use appealing as long as Anwar led the party.
He said: “I will not appeal, as if my appeal is accepted (by the party), I would no longer be able to criticise the party as before and also because its president would be the same person. The disciplinary (committee) would be the same and the same people would be behind Anwar.
“So…I’d rather watch and criticise the party from the outside as a Malaysian.”
Ganapathy declared that he had no issue working with any other party leader, including ex-president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who is also Anwar’s wife. - Mkini
