HOW TO TRUST MAHATHIR – WHEN NO ONE HAS SPLIT THE MALAYS MORE THAN HIM TO EMPOWER HIS BUSINESS CRONIES: TRUE OR NOT, UMNO LEADERS BRACE FOR ‘DE-REGISTRATION’ OF THEIR PARTY – AFTER DR M CALLS ON ALL MALAYS TO JOIN BERSATU

UMNO members need not worry about the party being deregistered as they will be absorbed into Barisan Nasional and fight the next general election as its candidates, said Mohamad Hasan.
The Umno deputy president said talks of having the party deregistered has come up again after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission moved to seize its assets over allegations it had received money from 1Malaysia Development Bhd.
He said the party had worked out the possible scenarios that could play out if the party was deregistered by the Registrar of Society over the 1MDB funds.
“If Umno is dissolved, we can regroup to form another party.
“We can take over another party if they don’t allow us to register a new party. Or we can use a vehicle that is synonymous with us, which is BN,” he told delegates at the Jerai Umno division today.
Mohamad said the party had been working on the scenario of being deregistered from the moment Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had said that Umno would be buried when he was in New York last year to attend the United Nations assembly.
He said the party had experimented with BN as its vehicle when it fielded Ramli Mohd Nor as its candidate in the Cameron Highlands by-election last year.
He noted that Ramli was not a member of any party in the coalition but he had romped to victory – this showed that Umno could rely on BN as its vehicle to continue its struggle if Umno was deregistered.
“So if we are deregistered, we shall all join BN en masse. While we are there, we can register a new party.
“If they refuse to let us register a new party, we can contest the next election as BN members. After we win the election, we can form Umno 3.0,” he said, alluding to the fact that the party had been deregistered in 1988 and had regrouped as Umno Baru later.
Bersatu causes split in Malay community, says Annuar Musa
Dr MAHATHIR Mohamad’s call for Malay parties to link up with Bersatu in the interest of Malay unity has been dismissed by Umno, which accused the splinter party for the divide in the community.
Its secretary-general Annuar Musa said Bersatu leadership with its scheming had driven the Malay community apart.
“The Malays feel cheated with Bersatu and its false promises in its manifesto to them. It had not kept any of its promises,” he said in Facebook post tonight, hours after Dr Mahathir made a call for all Malay parties to unite with Bersatu.
The Bersatu chairman said he found more and more Malay parties being formed, which reduced the chances of them to win elections.
“Yes, join Bersatu. When our group is big, we become strong, but don’t stop others from joining the party (Bersatu), let them join.
“If we are split, we become weak – united we stand, divided we fall. (But) we find that there are people forming new parties – (now) we have become six, soon there will be 10, (then) 100. There are 30 people in one party. How to win (the election),” he said after the Johor Bersatu Aidilfitri open house at the Dewan Serbaguna Johor Jaya this afternoon.
Annuar in his post claimed that Bersatu was responsible for encouraging liberal values and erosion of Malay rights by appointing DAP politicians to head important ministries in the federal government.
“It was responsible for surrendering the Malay position and power to DAP, especially position of strategic importance like the Finance Ministry, Information Ministry and the Attorney-General positions and thereby eroding Malay rights,” the Ketereh MP said.
Finance Minster Lim Guan Eng, Communication and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo and Attorney-General Tommy Thomas are all non-Malays.
Annuar said Bersatu was Dr Mahathir’s vehicle and the party would collapse the moment he was no longer in the scene.
“Bersatu is not the answer to the dreams and aspiration of the Malays. It would be better if their members join Umno and PAS, which is the bigger Malay coalition which will clean up the dirt left by Bersatu and its ally DAP.
“The Malays will never forgive Bersatu for selling the community’s rights and position to DAP,” he said in the post.
