Keep me out of PKR squabbles, says Dr M

Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
PUTRAJAYA: Dr Mahathir Mohamad today declined to comment on the conflict in PKR, following the heated exchange between its president Anwar Ibrahim and deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali.
“I don’t have to think about this,” he said after chairing a special Cabinet committee meeting on anti-corruption at the Prime Minister’s Office here.
“I have lots of other things to do.”
He added that he would think about the handover of power when he “crosses that bridge”.
“That is in the future. We will come to that when we cross that bridge.”
Under a deal struck by the Pakatan Harapan (PH) leadership, Anwar will succeed Mahathir as prime minister although no time frame has been set for the transfer of power.
When asked if the turmoil in PKR was becoming a liability to PH, he said: “That is for you to make an assessment.”
Yesterday, Anwar told Azmin that he should resign from his Cabinet position if he is proven to be one of the men in the videos.
Azmin subsequently shot back, telling Anwar to “look at the man in the mirror”.
This morning, a group of PKR central committee members seen as aligned with Azmin criticised Anwar for his remarks, saying he should focus on preserving party unity. - FMT
