Pasir Gudang readings show no toxins, so what gives?

JOHOR BARU: The authorities remain baffled as to what is causing students to experience symptoms of vomiting and dizziness in Pasir Gudang despite chemical detectors showing no toxic chemicals in the air.
State Health, Culture and Heritage Committee chairman Mohd Khuzzan Abu Bakar said their 85 detection teams dispatched to the schools did not turn up any major chemicals.
“In some schools, it was zero but there were still cases of students with symptoms,” he told a press conference here Tuesday (July 2).
He added that on Monday (July 1), a total of 310 students and three teachers from 31 schools had symptoms but after they were asked to rest, 127 were sent to nearby clinics and only three were warded.

Khuzzan said on Tuesday there were 11 cases from seven schools until 11am.

“Even all the urine and blood samples taken from the students have turned out to be negative.
“However, we will still be continuing looking for chemicals at the 85 schools Tuesday,” he added.
More than 500 students and some teachers have been having symptoms since the latest incident of chemical pollution in Pasir Gudang on June 20.- Star
