‘Semburit’ speech by Farhash warrants disciplinary action, says PKR women’s chief

Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak after being released from police custody yesterday.
PETALING JAYA: PKR’s women’s chief has urged the party to take disciplinary action against Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak for using a homosexual label on Mohamed Azmin Ali when addressing supporters after his release yesterday.
Haniza Talha was referring to Farhash’s speech outside the Dang Wangi police headquarters following his release from police custody over investigations into the gay sex videos allegedly involving Azmin.
Farhash, who is the political secretary of PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, had ended his speech by shouting “Anwar for PM” and “Azmin semburit”, which was repeated by the crowd.
Semburit means sexual acts between two men.
“This is an open accusation in front of the crowd and media against the party’s number two leader. This warrants disciplinary action,” Haniza told FMT.

In his speech, Farhash also questioned the police for detaining him over the gay sex videos which allegedly feature Azmin and former Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Aziz.
Haziq, who was released yesterday alongside Farhash, had confessed to being one of the men in the video. He named Azmin as the other man, a claim strongly denied by the PKR deputy president.
Another PKR leader also criticised Farhash’s speech yesterday.
Dr Afif Bahardin, who is aligned with the so-called “Azmin camp” in PKR, said Farhash should trust the police’s professionalism.
“He is being investigated by the police. We should have confidence in their professionalism and integrity,” he said.
