Turning the clock back, PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nastution Ismail has reminded PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man of a challenge he issued four years ago.
“In 2015, Tuan Ibrahim challenged [former premier] Najib [Abdul Razak] and [his wife] Rosmah [Mansor] to declare their assets.
“So if in 2015, God did not ask [for assets to be declared], why did you [Tuan Ibrahim] challenge them to do so?” he asked.
Speaking to reporters in Putrajaya today, the domestic trade and consumer affairs minister said he disagreed with PAS leader on this matter, stressing that Islam emphasised integrity.

The PAS leader had told Najib that declaring assets would be the most effective response to the allegations raised and to counter the negative perception towards him.
Yesterday, Tuan Ibrahim said PAS would not support the government's motion to make it compulsory for all MPs and their families to declare their assets, which was later passed in the Dewan Rakyat through a voice vote without objection from the opposition.
Apart from putting the lawmakers and their families at risk, he also argued that Islam discouraged the act of displaying wealth.
“There is one hadith (collected sayings of the Prophet Muhammad): If God gives you wealth, do not display it, as there will be many who will scrutinise it,” he added.
Meanwhile, Saifuddin said the opposition should focus on the motive behind the asset declaration, which is to eradicate corruption at all levels. - Mkini

ReplyDeleteSometimes when these people started to open their mouth the only comprehensible sound they produced were gibberish. They would say something which benefited for them. Years ago I was upset when someone labelled PAS as "parti ajaran sesat". Why? Because I thought these people with their Islamic credentials wouldn't lie.
ReplyDeleteNow, lo and behold, PIS people are lying through their teeth like eating rice. They lie at every occasion, they lie at anything just to suit their political agendas. Mampooosss lar this way. Soon everybody with Islamic background will be able to lie and probably making a good living by lying because they are able to just simply use any hadiths or religious decree or whatever that come to their mind and the worst thing is that their followers will trust and follow them like sheep.
