PARLIAMENT | BN Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman (above) was suspended for four days from the Dewan Rakyat today after deputy speaker Nga Kor Ming said he repeatedly defied his (Nga's) rulings.
This happened during the question-and-answer session today when Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Sim Tze Tzin answered a question put forward by Tajuddin himself.
"The minister (Salahuddin Ayub) was here to answer question number two but left the House one question before mine," said Tajuddin.
"This is disrespect, disrespect to the rakyat," said Tajuddin.
Nga, who chaired the sitting, did not to let Tajuddin ask an additional oral question after the BN lawmaker continued to complain.
"I gave you three opportunities (to ask questions) and you are stubborn," he said, before directing the sergeant-at-arms to eject Tajuddin.
Tajuddin, however, appeared to reluctant to move and continue to scold ruling government lawmakers and Nga.
Nga (below) then suspended Tajuddin form the Dewan Rakyat sitting for four days, saying that Tajuddin had behaved indecently.
"As Pasir Salak (MP) had again refused (my) instruction, I suspend him for four days," said Nga, adding, "All Malaysians can watch now how badly behaved the Pasir Salak (MP) is".
Several opposition MPs came to Tajuddin's defence and said Nga was not being consistent in his decision.
"My decision is consistent. According to Clause 44(2) of the Standing Order, when a lawmaker behaves indecently, (I can suspend him)," Nga countered.
"What indecently? I only reprimanded the minister. What's is there indecent? I got my people here, I don't need your support," said Tajuddin.
A shouting match then erupts between both sides of the House with Tajuddin accusing the ruling government lawmakers of "speaking like a communist" and Nga of being arrogant and a hypocrite.
The incident took about 20 minutes to abate.
