SEREMBAN: A clip showing a 14-year-old male student of a secondary school in Kuala Pilah being assaulted by his classmate has gone viral on social media.
The victim, who sustained injuries to his head and body, was apparently attacked in the school compound at around 2.30pm on Wednesday (July 3).
It is learnt that the victim was lured to an area near the motorcycle parking area by another student, claiming that the person he had a misunderstanding with earlier wanted to apologise.
When the victim arrived, the person reportedly apologised but then set upon him as he was about to walk away, causing him to fall.
The attacker then rained punches on the victim's head as he lay on the ground and kicked him.
One of the students present during the attack recorded the assault on his mobile phone.
In the clip, the other students could be heard cheering on the attacker.
Kuala Pilah district police chief Supt Haslah Bachok said the victim, accompanied by his parents, lodged a report at the Seri Menanti police station at around 11pm on the same day.
"We will call in some students to assist in our probe.
"As of now, there seems to be only one student who attacked the victim," he added.
The case is being investigated under section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.- Star
