PETALING JAYA: Two former PKR MPs have joined Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM).
The party’s president-designate Zuraida Kamaruddin announced this at a press conference after PBM’s first annual general meeting here today.
She identified them as Kuala Langat MP Xavier Jayakumar and Segamat MP Edmund Santhara Kumar.
With them joining PBM, the party now has six MPs including Zuraida (Ampang), Steven Choong (Tebrau), Larry Sng (Julau) and Mohamaddin Ketapi (Lahad Datu).
Five of them had won their seats under the PKR ticket at the last general election in 2018 while Mohamaddin stood under Warisan.
Zuraida and Edmund Santhara left PKR during the Sheraton Move to join Bersatu in 2020 while Choong and Sng left the party last year as independents supporting Perikatan Nasional.
Mohamaddin quit Warisan last year to join Bersatu but left in June, declaring he would be an independent MP backing the current federal and Sabah governments. - FMT
