HO CHI MINH CITY: FORMER world junior champion Goh Jin Wei is just one match away from winning her first international title since turning pro in January.
In the semi-finals of the Super 100 Vietnam Open today, Jin Wei, 23, clawed back from a game down to see off homester Tran Thi Phuong Thuy 12-21, 21-17, 21-14.
The Penang-born women's singles, who has been on a comeback trail following a career threatening colectomy surgery in 2019, will play Vietnam's Nguyen Thuy Linh for the crown.
Jin Wei's last appearance in a final was at the Spanish International in June, while her last major silverware was at the 2018 World Junior Championships in Markham, Canada.
Meanwhile, it was the end of the road for Cheam June Wei in the men's singles last four.
