PETALING JAYA: Former PKR vice-president Dr Xavier Jayakumar has refused to disclose why he chose to join Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM).
The Kuala Langat MP said there was no need to ask him why he did not choose other parties, such as Bersatu or one of the Barisan Nasional components.
“There’s no need to ask me why I didn’t choose other parties. It’s my choice, that’s all,” he told Utusan Malaysia.
“I don’t want to comment further or give any other reason. We’ll see what the future holds.
“Right now, what we know is that the general election is nearing.”
PBM president-designate Zuraida Kamaruddin yesterday said Xavier and another former PKR leader, Edmund Santhara Kumar, had joined the party.
Zuraida said PBM now has six MPs, five of whom had won their seats in the 2018 general election while with PKR, and the other while with Warisan.
Besides Zuraida (Ampang), Santhara (Segamat) and Xavier (Kuala Langat), the others are Larry Sng (Julau), Steven Choong (Tebrau) and Mohamaddin Ketapi (Lahad Datu). - FMT
