The Yang di-Pertuan Agong is currently abroad and has not scheduled an audience for the prime minister.
This was said by Comptroller of the Royal Household Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, according to Free Malaysia Today.
“(It's) fake news. Tuanku is still in Singapore,” he said.
Yesterday, former Bandar Tun Razak Umno division secretary Zaharin Mohd Yasin claimed that Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob was granted an audience today.
Adding to the speculation of snap polls were reports by Utusan Malaysia and Sinar Harian which claimed that Ismail Sabri was meeting the attorney-general and the police today.
Ismail Sabri is currently under pressure by his own party to dissolve Parliament to pave way for fresh polls - a move that could potentially make him the shortest-serving prime minister.
Currently, the Dewan Rakyat is in session and Ismail Sabri’s government was scheduled to table a budget for next year on Friday.
Yesterday, Ismail Sabri attended the pre-meeting briefing with government MPs - a move that was inconsistent with the dissolution of Parliament. - Mkini
