PETALING JAYA: Kedah Warisan has set its eyes on five parliamentary seats in the next general election (GE15).
Its chairman, Fadzil Hanafi, said the seats are Alor Setar, Pokok Sena, Merbok, Sungai Petani, and Padang Serai.
He said the state chapter has submitted one name for each constituency as potential candidates to Warisan president Shafie Apdal.
“It’s up to him to decide whether the candidates are qualified enough or if he wants other names,” he said according to an Utusan Malaysia report.
Fadzil was speaking to reporters after the party’s dinner with the media in Alor Setar yesterday.
He said the party’s most important criterion when selecting candidates for GE15 is whether they are well-received by the people on the ground.
Sabah-based Warisan made its debut in a peninsular election at the recent Johor state polls by contesting six seats but failed to win any. - FMT
