Pakatan Harapan chairperson Anwar Ibrahim in a return jab at Senior Minister Azmin Ali today said the Gombak MP should focus on defending his seat.
Met by reporters after the launch of his latest book, Anwar was asked for comments on Azmin's (above) reported declaration that he is ready to contest against the PKR president in the parliamentary seat.
"Why do you bother with him? He better takes care of his own seat.
"It will not be easy for him," he told reporters in Subang Jaya today.
Azmin, a former PKR deputy president, had led nine of the party's MPs that defected to join Bersatu during the Sheraton Move in 2020.
In his speech at a Bersatu event earlier today, Azmin reportedly said that he is also willing to fight against Anwar’s wife, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and daughter Nurul Izzah.
Leading up to the 15th general election, Anwar had most recently indicated his personal intention to move from Port Dickson and contest in a seat currently held by "traitors".
Anwar has yet to specify which seat he would be contesting but said the seat must have an "added advantage" to PKR and Harapan. - Mkini
