PETALING JAYA: Three NGOs will provide Selangor and Kuala Lumpur residents free bus rides to cast their votes in their respective hometowns on Nov 19.
The Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Association Hall (KLSCAH) said the rides would be given on a first-come, first-served basis and would be subject to availability.
The other NGOs involved in this initiative are the Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Hokkien Association and Sayangi Kinrara.
KLSCAH Civil Rights Committee chairman Liau Kok Fah hoped the initiative would encourage more people to return to their hometowns to vote.
“By doing so, they will exercise their civic responsibility, and decide the future of our political parties and country,” he said.
Liau said the buses would be departing from Dewan Masyarakat BK2, Puchong, on Nov 18 at 8pm and would go to these towns: Tangkak, Yong Peng, Johor Bahru, Pontian, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kuantan, Penang, Ipoh, Taiping, Alor Setar, Kota Bharu, and Kuala Terengganu.
The return trip at 6pm on Nov 19 will also be free.

Registration will close on Nov 16. - FMT
