PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional’s top three leaders have left Istana Negara after meeting the King this morning for about 40 minutes.
BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, his deputy Mohamad Hasan, and secretary-general Zambry Abd Kadir left Istana Negara around 11.23am.
While Istana Negara said yesterday that all 30 BN MPs will be meeting the King this morning, it is unclear if this is still happening.
The three BN leaders had arrived around 10.40am earlier, while Dewan Rakyat Speaker Azhar Harun and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) leaders arrived soon after.
On Saturday, GPS chairman Abang Johari Openg said the coalition will form the government with PN, BN, and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).
However, after BN denied this, GPS said it would let the King decide what was best for the people.
Umno vice-president Ismail Sabri Yaakob said BN’s Supreme Council had decided to remain in the opposition instead of backing anyone to form the government. - FMT
