GE15 | Pakatan Harapan candidate Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin is all fired up to go against Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in Bagan Datuk, the latter’s stronghold.
"I am fired up because I know that the voters are tired of the incumbent (Zahid).
"This is my jihad for Malaysians," said Shamsul, who is incumbent Hang Tuah Jaya MP.
The Bagan Datuk parliamentary seat (P075) will see a four-way fight where incumbent Zahid, who is contesting his seventh term, will face Shamsul (above), Perikatan Nasional candidate Muhammad Faiz Na’aman and independent candidate Tawfik Ismail.
The announcement of the qualified candidates was made by Bagan Datuk parliamentary seat returning officer Mohd Ghaoufron Hamzah at the Bagan Datuk Science Secondary School earlier today.
Zahid has been contesting in the seat since 1995, and in the 14th general election, he defended it with a majority of 5,073 votes. - Mkini
