MOBILE PHONES - WHAT ONE LOOKS FOR?

Well choices differ from person to person upon what they need. Some need a good camera phone while some need minimalistic OS or good features.

The first rule while buying a mobile phone is : Never buy a phone with a high SAR.

First, SAR is a measure of the rate of radiofrequency energy absorption by the body from the cell phone.(source : Federal Communication Commission).

If you re wondering why this? Simply because some researchers argue that the radiofrequency energy that cell phones emit may lead to a higher risk of cancer.

FCC limit the SAR level to 1.6 watts per kilogram. So phone with less SAR is much better.

In addition, the German certification for environmental friendliness 'Der Blaue Engel' (Blue Angel) only certifies phones which have a specific absorption rate of less than 0.60 watts per kilogram !!

At the end, we list the ranking of phones emitting the most radiation(you gonna be surprised..yeah i know !)

Source: The Statistics Portal

The primary things one should look in a SMARTPHONES are:

  1. Processor
  2. RAM
  3. After Sale Service
  4. Bloatware free
  5. Camera
  6. VOLTE

We also need to understand what makes a good smartphone :

  1. Good Antenna - you need to be able to take and make calls .. this is a primary feature for all phones android or not
  2. Display - Go for the Amoled or more powerful displays (e.g retina-like) and get a phone which has as big a display as possible , the trend nowadays is that phones are getting bigger e.g Galaxy Note , rather than smaller , this makes browsing on the Internet much more comfy from your mobile screen
  3. Robustness - go for Gorilla glass for screen protection and look for a phone which has good plastic finish that wont get scratched each time it comes in contact with your car keys or coins in your pocket
  4. Updates - this is the most annoying thing about an Android phone if you are not buying from Google e.g the Nexus then most probably somewhere down the line you will be dropped off from updates , this is because each manufacturer adds its own GUI on top of the stock Android OS which means that if it takes 10 months to release a new version of Android e.g Jelly Bean then you need to count another 5-10 months for the Manufacture to come up with and update
  5. Price - there are phones on the market which are expensive for nothing so be careful of that , do use comparison sites and youtube to verify what you are getting from your phone before emptying your wallet.
  6. Fire Power - Now we are in the Quad Core era , although the difference between Quad Core and Dual Core will be barely noticeable to the normal user if your someone who is going to buy and keep your phone for 2-3 yeas or more better you buy the most powerful chip on the market as Apps need more and more power , so better be prepared for the years ahead

So decide what features/specs/performance you want in your smartphone and for what price before purchasing and using them.
