Disgusted at the sight of dogs? This home owner was forced to move due to unresolved feline nuisance!

IN stark contrast to dogs being deemed a nuisance in a spate of hatred levelled at pet-friendly shopping malls, it is wise to never assume that their feline counterparts are little angels.

Such is the misfortune an extremely irate home owner had to endure – an incredibly painful feeling which she summed up as including disappointment, frustration and just plain anger.

In a lengthy tirade shared on Saja Viral’s Facebook page, she described her anguish in dealing with an inconsiderate neighbour who insisted on feeding stray cats but did not take any further responsibility for their care.

That meant the felines would wander into the poster’s immaculate yard to defecate and urinate, leaving an unbearable stench all hours of the day.

The lady went on to lament that her many pleas with the neighbour were ignored and all measures taken to curtail the feline invasion into her home had eventually failed.

These included fencing her yard and placing litter boxes around her property to avoid her home from becoming a public toilet for these cats.

‘Clorox tip’

Having spent the last two decades transforming the abode into a dream retirement home for themselves, that carefully laid-out plans have gone up in smoke as the family could no longer tolerate the “living hell” of staying in a home that constantly smelled of cat urine.

Taking the drastic action of moving out of their extensively renovated home, the poster cursed the neighbour for their inconsiderate actions.

The post has generated 3.7K likes, 1.5K comments and 906 shares at time of publication, denoting that the poster’s grouses resonated with many commenters.

More than a few underlined the need for animal lovers who feed strays to take greater responsibility.

If they were not willing to do so, they should desist from feeding these animals as these creatures will pose a nuisance to the community at large. One commended the poster for not taking the drastic action of poisoning the animals.

Another added that she not only fed and cleaned up after the felines but also neutered those that constantly appear at her home to keep the stray cat population in check.

It was also shared what seemed to be an effective tip to countering this problem of a house and yard turning into a feline toilet – spray the area with bleach!

However, some commenters mocked the poster for taking such drastic action, labelling the move of premises as a hysterical overreaction.

One observer who faced the same problem simply recommended that the poster affix the necessary fencing to avoid the cats invading her home.

This simple solution would avoid her having to sell her property. “Neighbours from hell are plentiful in this day and age,” he alluded.

Yes, the poster may be a tad dramatic in her wailing but that does not detract from the fact that irresponsible Malaysians acting under the guise of “animal lovers” are aplenty.

Being kind towards animals goes beyond tossing table scraps onto pavements which cause all manner of problems, not least a growing stray population. What many seem to forget is that everyone has a duty to be kind to their fellow neighbours as well. –  Focus Malaysia
