DBKL demolishes 26 illegal stalls in Bukit Kerinchi after final warning ignored

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) demolished 26 illegal stalls built on a public road reserve in Jalan Pantai Permai, Bukit Kerinchi on Thursday.

In a post on Facebook, DBKL said the special operation was carried out in collaboration with the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corporation (SWCorp), Tenaga Nasional Bhd and the police.

It said action was taken against stall owners and business operators who failed to vacate the site despite receiving a final enforcement notice on April 15 — the third notice issued — for erecting structures without approval on a public road reserve.

"Enforcement action was taken to demolish 26 stall structures that had been vacated, in accordance with the Street, Drainage and Building Act," it said.

The city hall said it will continue monitoring the area and carry out enforcement actions from time to time.

Members of the public may channel complaints or feedback through the official platforms provided by DBKL. - NST
