KUALA LUMPUR: A 13-year-old girl has been reported missing after leaving her home in Taman Muda Cheras, Ampang, two days ago.
Ampang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Khairul Anuar Khalid said the teenager's disappearance was only discovered when she failed to return home as expected.
"She had left the house about 11am to collect some items from a friend's home.
"However, she did not return and is believed to have followed a male friend," he said in a statement today.
The girl, identified as Sufaira Anuwar Jamil, is 148cm tall and weighs about 40kg.
"Her last known location was a house along Jalan Bunga Kemboja 3, Taman Muda Cheras, Ampang.
"Those with information are urged to come forward to the nearest police station or contact the Ampang Jaya police headquarters control centre at 03-4289 7222, or the investigating officer, Sergeant Major Nolee Mohd Azemi, at 011-1025 0165," he said.
Khairul Anuar also advised parents and guardians to closely monitor their children's movements and ensure they are not left unsupervised. - NST
