FOREIGNERS who visit Malaysia will immediately note the melting pot of culture here unlike the many other countries out there in Asia.
While it appears the many races in Malaysia are living in peace, an invisible spiritual battle continues to be fought in the background.
And lately, the distasteful topic about “illegal” temples seems to have stuck in the minds of our fellow Malaysians.
Continuing from there is a post on X by netizen @fendithehunk which is gaining attention on the cyberspace.
According to the post, a vigilante decided to remove a red cloth wrapped around the trunk of a tree in an undisclosed location. Note that the cloth is purportedly used to mark the tree as an entity for worshipping.
And when we thought the drama was over, the plot thickens. The vigilante returned to check on the tree later only to realise that someone had painted the trunk red instead.
Anyone who follows this post can already imagine that this will be the start to something hilarious.
“This is vandalism,” said netizen @benayounscousin in the comment section while @AzaharulAzwan suggested that the only way to solve this problem was to cut down the tree.

Then there was netizen @aebob calling the authorities to chop it down. He even said to put the blame on him, saying that his grandmother told him to chop down the tree in a dream.
But perhaps the winner of the comment section goes to @farsalurhahS:

Also, @babysisternadia suggested they turn the red coat of paint into the Jalur Gemilang flag or the flag of Kelantan. Away from the jokes and laughters, the issue of race and religion can get very ugly, very quickly.
While the vigilantes who believe the removal of the cloth from the tree trunk is an act of good, they should be mindful to observe the issue through multiple lenses.
Dialogue and diplomacy oftentimes trump action when such matters are involved and it is best that both sides of the party is represented by knowledgeable individuals best suited to navigate such complications. — Focus Malaysia
