2 maintenance workers badly hurt after hotel lift plunges 7 floors

PETALING JAYA:

Two maintenance workers were severely injured after the lift they were in plunged seven floors at a hotel on Jalan Syed Abdul Aziz in Melaka today.

Melaka fire and rescue department spokesman Hafidzatullah Rashid said the duo, both 27, were repairing the lift when the incident occurred.

He said the Melaka Tengah fire and rescue station received an emergency call at 11.55am and a team which went to the scene took about an hour to extricate the victims from the wreckage.

The duo were taken to Melaka Hospital for treatment. - FMT
