Police say the driver stepped on the gas pedal too hard, causing him to lose control of the car as it skidded onto the sidewalk.

PETALING JAYA: A driver who allegedly caused a road accident on Jalan Tun Razak in Kuala Lumpur last night was not driving under the influence of alcohol, police said today.
Kuala Lumpur traffic investigation and enforcement chief Zamzuri Isa said that in the incident that occurred at about 8pm, the driver stepped too hard on the accelerator, causing him to lose control of his car.
As a result, it skidded onto the sidewalk before crashing into another car and a fence.
Rebutting a video on Threads that claimed the driver was drunk, Zamzuri said breathalyser and urine tests confirmed the man had not consumed any alcohol.
The case is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 for failing to control a vehicle’s movements while driving, he said in a statement. - FMT
