The gathering comes amid heightened political activity within PN, which was sparked by PAS cutting ties with Bersatu last week

Opposition MPs linked to Hamzah such as Beluran MP Ronald Kiandee, Indera Mahkota MP Saifuddin Abdullah, Masjid Tanah MP Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, Hulu Terengganu MP Rosol Wahid and Rompin MP Abdul Khalib Abdullah were also seen entering the building.
Hamzah was sacked from Bersatu in February at the height of a leadership tussle with party president Muhyiddin Yassin. Saifuddin was sacked from Bersatu in January, while Kiandee, Mas Ermieyati, Rosol and Khalib are currently suspended.
PAS leaders seen arriving for the 8.30pm meeting included vice-president and PN chairman Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, as well as election director Sanusi Nor.
The gathering comes amid heightened political activity within PN, which PAS sparked by cutting ties with Bersatu last week after stating Bersatu had become power-hungry and did not prioritise Malay-Muslim unity.
Last night, Bersatu insisted it would remain in PN and would contest the upcoming Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections under its banner. Bersatu has also promised to “go all out” against PAS at the polls.
Hamzah launched Parti Wawasan Negara at a convention in Kelantan last Saturday. At the convention, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang announced that Hamzah would return as opposition leader, taking over from Samsuri, who will remain PN chairman.
Hadi also said Wawasan would be allowed to use PN’s logo at the upcoming state polls in Johor and Negeri Sembilan. - FMT
