Police say three students repeatedly threw ice cubes at the boy, who took the box cutter from his pencil case and chased one of them.

Alor Gajah police chief Ahmad Abu Bakar said the incident occurred around 2.50pm during a co-curricular activity in an open-air hall, Harian Metro reported.
He said two 13-year-old students and another 14-year-old are believed to have repeatedly thrown ice cubes at the suspect, also 13.
“Out of anger, the suspect took a box cutter from his pencil case before chasing one of the victims for about 50m to the school’s surau.
“The two other students ran away for fear of being targeted. The incident was recorded by the school’s CCTV,” he said.
Ahmad said a teacher swiftly intervened and persuaded the student to hand over the box cutter to prevent anyone from getting hurt.
“After being called to the school, the boy’s family took him home. Investigations found that the students involved have records of disciplinary issues,” he added.
He said the student who brandished the box cutter was undergoing treatment for a mental health disorder at the psychiatry unit of Melaka Hospital.
Ahmad said the boy was last went for treatment on June 3 and that the school was aware of his condition.
The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation. - FMT
