BANTING: A Form Three female student was charged at the magistrate's court today with attempted murder of her schoolmate on Monday.
She was charged with attempting to murder her 15-year-old schoolmate by allegedly attacking her with a knife and causing injuries with the intention of causing her death, at a secondary school here at 9.50am on July 6.
The charge was read out to the 15-year-old girl before magistrate Maslinda Selamat.
However, no plea was recorded.
The magistrate granted a joint application from the prosecution and defence for the girl to be sent for a one-month psychiatric assessment.
The proceedings were held behind closed doors, with the court sitting as a Children's Court. - NST
