Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh has confirmed accepting an invitation from PAS Youth to attend the wing’s gathering in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, on Sept 3.
Berita Harian reported that Akmal’s attendance, along with a line-up of Umno Youth leaders, is expected to further strengthen cooperation between the two parties.
“...Insya-Allah I have stated my commitment to attend,” Akmal was quoted as saying after an investiture ceremony in Ayer Keroh, in conjunction with Malacca Governor Ali Rustam’s birthday.
Akmal also said the Umno Youth General Assembly on Sept 10 will focus on preparations to face upcoming state elections and the 16th general election.
Former PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin will not be among the veterans to rejoin the party, following an open call by party president Anwar Ibrahim.
According to FMT, Zuraida said she is currently focused on a campaign titled “Jelajah Payung Besar” (Big Umbrella Tour), with various NGOs to encourage more Malays to vote in the next general election.
Zuraida, now a part of the Muafakat Nasional movement, said the campaign would focus on explaining issues regarding Article 153 of the Federal Constitution, claiming the article’s legitimacy had been jeopardised by the interference of non-Malay leaders in government.
Zuraida Kamaruddin “I don’t plan to respond to Anwar’s call for the time being,” the former minister reportedly said.
Zuraida, as then-Ampang MP, left PKR during the February 2020 Sheraton Move to join Bersatu, before quitting in May 2022 to join the newly formed Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM).
MACC failed to forfeit a 1kg gold bar and RM21 million in funds held in 12 bank accounts belonging to Aman Palestin Sdn Bhd today.
The anti-graft buster’s forfeiture application, filed via three separate actions in 2024 and 2025, was dismissed by Shah Alam High Court judge Latifah Tahar this morning, as reported by Kosmo.
Latifah, in her verdict, held that MACC failed to prove that the funds and the gold bar were linked to proceeds from illegal activities.

MACC previously filed its applications to forfeit the funds and gold bar under Section 56(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001. - Mkini
