Anwar congratulates BN, holds up PH legacy of good governance

 The Pakatan Harapan chairman said the legacy of the PH-led state government should continue to be strengthened for Negeri Sembilan’s progress.

Pakatan Harapan chairman Anwar Ibrahim said the PH-led state government had a legacy of excellent administration based on good governance, stability and development that benefited the people.

Pakatan Harapan chairman Anwar Ibrahim has congratulated Barisan Nasional on its victory in the Negeri Sembilan state election and receiving the people’s mandade to form the next state government.

Anwar thanked the Negeri Sembilan public for placing their trust in PH and its state leader, Aminuddin Harun, who served as menteri besar for eight years.

“Throughout that period, PH left behind a legacy of excellent administration based on good governance, stability and development that benefited the people,” he said. “I hope it will continue to be strengthened for the progress of Negeri Sembilan.”

He also expressed his appreciation to all voters who took part in the state election, describing their participation as an important part of the democratic process.

Anwar, who is also the prime minister, said that the federal government would continue to support and cooperate with the new Negeri Sembilan government to ensure the well-being and prosperity of the state and its people.

The informal alliance of BN and the PAS-led Perikatan Nasional claimed victory in today’s state election, securing a two-thirds majority to end PH’s hold on the state government after two terms.

The BN-PN victory is the first for the alliance after they reached an understanding not to contest against each other.

Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the alliance had won 25 seats in the 36-member state assembly, with BN winning 18 seats, while PN secured seven. PH is believed to have secured 10 seats. - FMT
