GEORGE TOWN: The Fire and Rescue Department believes that there are victims trapped in a landslide that happened on Lebuh Rambai 6 in Air Itam here.
The landslide is believed to have occurred at around 8.30am Friday, following a downpour since midnight.
Operations commander Mohd Yusni Manshor said an excavator will be used to remove the fallen trees and ascertain if there are victims trapped under the debris.
Mohd Yusni said a distress call was received from the public about the landslide at 10.40am.
