Jailed Pakatan Harapan de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim was admitted to Hospital Kuala Lumpur today.
His daughter Nurul Izzah and PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli confirmed this with Malaysiakini.
PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil said in a statement that Anwar was rushed to the hospital at 2pm due to unstable blood pressure.
"He is now under doctor's observation.
"He requires intensive physiotherapy due to an old shoulder injury," he said.
Fahmi said Anwar urged people to continue striving for change.
"He also reminded the PKR and Harapan leadership to prioritise the people's issues including issues of economic mismanagement which requires solutions.
"'Change is imminent'," he said.
Anwar is presently serving a five-year jail sentence at Sungai Buloh prison for sodomy, a charged he maintained was politically motivated.
He is expected to be released from prison in the middle of 2018.- Mkini
