The Chinese community must realise that it is highly unlikely that Pakatan Harapan will be able to capture Putrajaya in the next general election, said Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
“Because if you look at political reality today, they Malays only have two parties representing them; Umno and PAS.
“Pakatan Harapan is not being supported by them (Malays). DAP cannot dream of forming the next government.
“The next government, God willing, will continue to be BN. It is better for the Chinese community to realise this.
“Their (opposition’s) slogan is ini kali lah (this time). We say lain kali lah (next time), or we say tak payah lah (no need),” he said in his speech at the “Malaysian Chinese Patriotic Rally” held at the Putra World Trade Centre today.
The event, which is organised by MCA in conjunction with Malaysia Day, saw around 15,000 Chinese people from all over the country, including Sabah and Sarawak, attending.
Najib said that the opposition’s mantra is to confuse the people if they cannot convince them.
“The opposition will try to either change your mind to hate the government, but if they can’t, they want to confuse you so that you are not sure who is right and who is wrong,” he said.
As such, he reminded the crowd not to rely on the propaganda of the opposition.
“The government today is a government who is committed to Malaysia’s future. We have a new vision for Malaysia.
“We are committed to peace and harmony, mutual respect,” he said.
He also took a shot at Penang’s DAP-led state government by bringing up the floods in the state yesterday morning.
“They can spend RM300 million on the ‘masterplan’, but they cannot spend on flood mitigation.
“Of course they blame BN. That is their favourite tactic,” he said. - Mkini
