Dr Mahathir Mohamad, DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang, and Amanah elections director Hatta Ramli will not be barred from entering the state, said Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg.
"No problem, they are not extremists," Abang Johari was quoted as saying by The Star.
Mahathir will be making his first ever speech in Sarawak tomorrow since leaving Umno and BN.
The Pakatan Harapan chairperson will be speaking in Kuching during a ceramah centred around the coalition’s manifesto for the state.
Earlier today, two PKR MPs - Zuraida Kamaruddin and Hee Loy Sien - were barred from entering Sarawak upon arriving at the Miri airport.
Abang Johari said the state government would stop any politician whom it deems a threat from entering the state.
"Freedom of speech does not mean it can be done at the expense of the people. I will bar politicians who might cause disunity in Sarawak, despite what the critics are saying," he said.
He added that this was the reason why figures such as Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos and Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali had also been barred from entering the state.
