Rizal Mansor, the aide to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's wife Rosmah Mansor, had violated regulations imposed on civil servants by politicking, claimed PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli.
Rafizi said, as Prime Ministers Office Special Division principal assistant director with the grade of M48, Rizal is bound to Rule 21(1) of the Public Officers Regulations (Conduct and Discipline) 1993 which prohibits civil servants from taking part in politics.
The Pandan MP claimed Rizal had broken this rule by campaigning for BN in the 2016 Kuala Kangsar by-election; officiating the Kelana Jaya Umno Youth annual general assembly; and issuing political statements.
"I will discuss with my lawyer friends on making an official complaint to the Public Service Department on a clear violation of one of the civil servant's main rules which are often used against civil servants who sympathise with the opposition," Rafizi said in a blog post.
Rafizi said he will also take the matter to Parliament to ensure that disciplinary action is taken against Rizal, whom he said had ignored rules set for civil servants.
Malaysiakini has contacted Rizal for a response.
Rafizi and Rizal have been trading barbs, most recently over the former's policy research body Invoke.- Mkini
