Wan Junaidi: Dr M has no impact in Sarawak, talks rubbish

Dr Mahathir Mohamad's weekend visit to Kuching will have no impact on politics in the Sarawak, said Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu Sarawak (PBB) supreme council member Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
"It has no impact at all. He only caused a negative impact to the opposition," Wan Junaidi, the state’s natural resources and environment minister, said at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.
He said that Mahathir and PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim did not contribute to Sarawak when prime minister and deputy prime minister respectively.
"When Mahathir was the prime minister, he gave nothing to Sarawak, he talked only.
"(It was the same for) Anwar. He promised to build 31 schools in Sarawak with half a billion of ringgit, but not a single sen was given to us," he said.
Citing a meeting with BN backbenchers chaired by Anwar, Wan Junaidi said Anwar rejected any increase in the allocations for MPs on minor projects in the state.
"I am a mature man. He threw a file at me and said: 'We cannot send all the money to Sarawak'.

"I kept quiet for 20 over years," Wan Junaidi said.
Asked about the sizeable turnout at the Pakatan Harapan ceramah in Kuching last night, he argued that an 8,000 strong turnout was not considered big.
"We had a larger crowd in the 2013 (general) election, and I obtained a bigger majority.
"Some were curious to listen to what kind of rubbish came out from his (Mahathir's) mouth," he said.
